Jerry loves playing sports because it allows him to be his authentic self. Jerry has made lifelong friends and memories while playing sports, as well as learned lifelong lessons about perseverance, teamwork, being selfless, and sacrifice. When he is between the lines, he is able to use his God-given abilities to help his team succeed, win or lose. Playing sports allows Jerry to live out his wildest dreams as an athlete and continue to build skills that will help him in sports and in life.
Jerry gains his inspiration from his family. Whether Jerry is on the field, the court, or in the classroom, his family are his biggest cheerleaders and encourages him to give his all in everything he does. Jerry's village is second to none and will show up for him, rain or shine. Jerry's love for his family runs deep, which is why he works so hard to make them proud of him athletically and academically.
Jerry lead his team to victory in the last game of his flag football season, preserving his team's undefeated record. His team was down 2 additional key pieces, so Jerry put the team on his back, scoring 3 touchdowns. Even though the defense keyed in on Jerry as the main threat, Jerry kept his composure on offense and defense, making big plays on both sides of the ball, including the game sealing flag pull that sealed the win. Jerry was a huge leader for his team that day.
