He loves the friendships, the competition, and the feeling of being part of something bigger than himself. Baseball gives him purpose, joy, and confidence, on good days and tough ones. He lights up when he’s on the field, whether he’s pitching, hitting, or just cheering on his teammates. It’s where he feels most like himself.
The Polar Bear! Pete Alonso inspires him because of his grit, humility, and how he always plays with heart. Whether he’s hitting home runs or lifting up teammates, Pete leads by example. He’s proof that hard work, resilience, and being a good person matter just as much as talent.
One of my proudest moments is seeing him make friends with players from the opposing team. They all cheer him on by name, and he stays in touch with many of them - proof of his sportsmanship and character. On the field, at only 11 years old, he threw a no-hitter and has 11 career home runs (and counting), but it’s the respect he earns from others that makes me most proud
