John loves working on his pitching for hours then in a game striking out a batter or getting him out. John has practiced countless hours pitching in the strike zone. It has taken determination, commitment and perseverance to improve his pitching. There were games that were discouraging and rough. John took the challenge, and he pushed through to become a better ball player. He has consistently hustled, and he has dedicated himself to becoming the best athlete he can.
John is most inspired by his Dad , Carmine. He takes the time to practice with him any chance he gets. When a problem arises, Carmine will help John work through the issue, yet allowing John room to find his way. Carmine will push John to become better- on and off the field. Carmine is an agent of change and a problem solver. John has always admired his Dad for that. His Dad has a holiday light show, and he has raised thousands of dollars for various organizations of those in need.
John had been struggling at the plate for a while. He just could not get a hit. He knew he needed to do something different. John decided that he would practice his timing. and change his stance at the plate. After hours of practice, John got at bat in the 4th inning of his game, bases were loaded. John got a bases clearing triple! He earned his breakthrough!
