Johnny’s love for sports often stems from a mix of emotional, social, and physical rewards that resonate deeply at this stage of life. The competitive thrill is a major driver, whether it’s outrunning an opponent, sinking a game-winning shot, or beating a personal record. Johnny thrives on pushing his limits, and the challenge of improving skills or mastering new techniques fuels his passion.
Johnny has inspiration from his great grandmother who recently passed away due to health issues. She was a huge Detroit Lions fan, and she loved all competition sports. While she loved all sports, her and Johnny bonded over their love for Football.
Johnny’s moment that made me the proudest would be when he and his middle school basketball team went the whole season undefeated! Johnny learned his position and played it very well. Johnny performed at the top of his abilities all while dealing with the lost of his father to incarceration back in 2020. Even while fighting through his own emotional woes, he was able to come out on top by working as a team. The way Johnny persevered throughout his incredible journey continues to make me proud.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
