You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
At 11 years old, Josh has become somewhat of a scientist in the game. Instead of focusing on power, Josh focuses on the technical aspect of the game through technical growth, not just raw athleticism. By doing this he is encouraged by refining his swing and seeing the results. His abilities and skillsets as a utility player, allows him the luxury to enjoy being wherever the team needs him.
I could say that we, his parents push him but he is developing his own identity and becoming a great leader. His inspiration as well as support comes from his community, teachers, friends and random strangers who encourage him as a young athlete. He is a true student of the game and follows Ken Griffey Jr., Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani to name a few but he follows the game and the players who play and make the game great.
What we're the most proud of is this year he introduce himself to baseball in the best way that he knew how and that was with his game play. He was recently named to the Perfect Game Gulf Coast tournament (Week 3) All Tournament team for his batting. We couldn't believe it but were excited to celebrate his growth in producing numbers like 84 mph exit velocity and 64.1 mph bat speed.
