Join the CompetitionJosiah loves how sports set him free from the world’s problems and craziness. For a few moments he is able to put all of his focus and feelings into working hard, enabling him to perform at his best. Participating in track and football brings him joy that can only be found in playing sports. These two sports may seem worlds apart, one about precision and split seconds, the other about strategy and impact, but together they’ve shaped him into a more disciplined, driven, and resilient person.
His father and uncles inspire him everyday. All are former college athletes and some even pro. He gets to witness the work that they’ve done and put in to provide for their families and they’ve set the tone on what it means to be great. Now it’s on him to follow the blueprint and blaze an even greater trail.
Winning the section championship in the 110 high hurdles as a junior is his greatest accomplishment. One because no one thought he could do it. He was written off his freshman year. But he persevered, worked extremely hard and demonstrated amazing amounts of resilience. He fell in his very first race and had to be encouraged to finish. Now he’s one of the best hurdlers in the nation.
