Over the years, the sport has become much more than just a game for him. It’s helped him grow tremendously, both on and off the field. Through soccer, he has built confidence in himself, developed strong skills, and learned the value of hard work and perseverance. What stands out most is his passion. He’s incredibly dedicated, always pushing himself to improve.
My son is inspired to play soccer by watching his father and uncles, who shared the same passion. He looks up to the greatest players in the world and dreams of following in their footsteps. But most of all, he simply loves the game—being on the field brings him joy, purpose, and motivation to keep growing as a player.
One of my proudest moments as a mother was during a tournament in Florida. My son’s team was losing, but he scored the first goal, lifting the team's morale. He followed it with another goal, and his leadership inspired two teammates to score as well. They came back and won the game. Watching him lead, stay composed, and fuel his team’s spirit reminded me why he loves this game and why he truly deserves to be recognized as Athlete of the Year.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
