What he loves most about basketball is the feeling he gets when he’s on the court it’s where he feels the most confident and free. He loves the energy of the game, the fast pace, and the competition. But more importantly, he loves being part of a team, building that bond with his teammates, and learning how to trust and rely on each other. It pushes him to work hard, stay focused, and keep growing, not just as a player, but as an individual.
My son is inspired by his dad, who played football at the University of Southern Mississippi. Watching his father’s dedication, humility, and love for the game taught him that success takes heart, grit, and character. He doesn’t just admire his dad’s athletic past; he respects the way he carries himself as a man. Their bond and shared passion inspire my son to give his all, both on and off the court, as he builds his own legacy with the values his dad lives by every day.
The proudest moment in my son’s athletic journey was when he didn’t make the starting lineup for his AAU team after working so hard. Instead of quitting, he showed up, worked harder, and supported his team. He eventually earned his spot back, but what really mattered was the growth. He learned resilience, humility, and how to lead through adversity, and watching him turn that setback into strength was more rewarding than any win.
