Between these two sports, track and football, he has never lost faith. They got him through my(mom’s) diagnosis of a rare cancer.

What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Justin loves the community he’s made the most of all. The community of moms and best friends. The moms he can call when he needs help or the friends he can call when he feels down. The camaraderie is always there from year to year. Sport to sport.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My son said his friends and I were the ones who inspired him the most. Between them and I we keep him accountable in 2 different situations. I keep accountable in a mom sense and they keep him accountable in a friendship scenario.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I’m most proud of my son’s ability to adapt to life’s challenges. He’s the most coachable person I’ve ever met, soaks it all in, and learns it quickly. I’m so impressed by his leadership skills, level headedness, and professionalism.
