What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Kade loves learning the game and continuously growing and getting better. He lights up when he’s on the court- it’s where he feels most like himself. He enjoys the fast pace, the challenge, and how every game pushes him to improve. He’s proud when he makes a good pass or a tough shot, but what he really loves is being part of a team. It teaches him responsibility, builds friendships, and gives him a goal to work hard. Basketball is more than just a game- it motivates him and makes him happy.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

On the court, he is inspired by the challenge—he loves pushing himself to be better with every practice and game. He looks up to players who work hard, lead their teams, and stay humble. Seeing progress in his skills, hearing encouragement from his coach, and being counted on by his teammates really motivates him. Off the court, he’s inspired by people who stay true to themselves and overcome obstacles. He wants to make his family proud. He sees that hard work pays off.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

A moment that made me the proudest was when I saw my son pick up a teammate who had missed the game-winning shot. Instead of being upset, he walked over, put his arm around him, and said, ‘We win and lose together.’ That moment showed me the kind of young man he’s becoming—one with character, leadership, and compassion. It wasn’t about stats or scoring points—it was about how he carried himself. Watching him grow not just as a player, but as a person is what fills my heart the most. Life lessons
