Why I Love Basketball – By Kaiden Hi, my name is Kaiden and I’m 10 years old. I love basketball so much! It’s my favorite thing to do, and there are three big reasons why: sportsmanship, leadership, and how fun it is. First, basketball has taught me about sportsmanship. That means being nice and respectful to everyone, even the other team. I’ve learned that it’s not just about winning, it’s about playing fair, listening to the coach, and being a good teammate. Even if we lose,I still high-five
Basketball also means a lot to me because of the people who inspire me. Stephen Curry is one of my biggest heroes. Watching him break records and hit crazy threes makes me want to work harder. He shows what can happen when you never give up. My Dad Shugg Staying On Me . My stepdad Ray and my Uncle Pimp inspire me too. They always push me to do my best. They train with me, teach me, and believe in me—even when I mess up. Their dedication helps me stay focused and never quit.
One of my proudest moments as a parent was attending Kaiden’s banquet and hearing how much of an impact he had on his team. It wasn’t just about his skills or performance—it was about who he is as a person. To hear his coaches and teammates talk about how he lifted others up when they were down, how he showed true leadership and sportsmanship, and how he never gave up no matter the circumstances—it filled my heart with pride. Knowing that Kaiden is not only a dedicated athlete but also kind.
