What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Scoring points, the excitement of the game and hanging out with friends are some of what I love most about bball. The feeling when you shake an opponent, make the perfect shot, and the crowd and your team cheers is the best. I have so much fun playing with my friends during games, during practice, and scrimmages. We keep each other focused and they have become my brothers. Some of my best memories come from playing basketball.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My uncle Tyreese inspires me the most athletically. He plays basketball overseas. Its inspiring to know that he grew up Just like me. He worked hard, never gave up, and now he is traveling the world playing the game he loves as his job. He gets to take care of his mother, who was the one to see to it that he persevered even when it was the hardest to keep going.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Watching my son hit two different buzzer beaters was a proud parent moment. Not because he made the game shot, but because it changed the game for him. You could see confidence radiate off of him and it led to him taking more chances on himself during games vs only passing the ball. He realized he was equally important to his team and it drove him to love basketball and to work at it even on his own time. He is a natural leader and im proud of him for realizing his potential.
