My child loves to see her hard work pay off. She loves the competition and fighting until the finish! But most of all she loves the community and companionship between distance runners. She has made so many life long friends through the sport and always gives her competitors a hug at the end of the race!
My daughter is inspired by her fellow athletes and teammates, who push her to be her best on and off the track. She looks up to different people in the field and aspires to be like them.
There have been times where, during a race, I can see a switch turn on and her desire for the race overrules all pain and all insecurities. While her wins always make me happy, it is the way she races with desire and passion that makes me proud.
