I have learned many life lesson through the challenges, fears, setbacks, and injuries in gymnastics. Learning to support teammates & being a team player and making life long friendships are aspects I love and appreciate. Focusing on my goals in gymnastics help me stay motivated to study and perform well at school as well. Staying fit and mentally healthy through exercise, the sense of community through the team, and overcoming challenges have kept me in love with gymnastics.
Looking up to coaches, older teammates, elite, and college gymnasts who have achieved and overcome so much keeps me inspired and setting goals. As far as off the field God gives me strength to get through the hard times. My coaches, teachers, family, and friends are always there for me cheering me on and encouraging and believing in me during challenging times and setbacks. I am also inspired by my teammates and their kindness and support are limitless and selfless.
Kaitlyn coming back from injuries and cheering for teammates while devastated by being sidelined and not able to compete make me proud. It takes a selfless athlete and leadership to cheer on the sidelines after working 20-25 hours a week and not being able to participate at times. Winning the Western National Title is a proud moment as Kaitlyn was coming back from a previous season injured at a less than ideal time in her career & upcoming college recruiting process.
