Her grandma inspires her because she was a big part of Kaiya’s life and she loved watching her play. She always challenged her to do everything with excellence, but she always told her how proud she was and tried to come to as many games as she could. Her grandma passed away last year after a short battle with cancer. She was one of her biggest supporters so now Kaiya tries her best to make her proud in heaven.
I was so proud when she received her 1st offer to play college basketball last month. She’s always been small but she never let that stop her from trying to be the best. All the sacrifices she made led her to that point, her biggest goal. She put in countless hours in the gym, gave up holidays, proms, and other major events to play this game. She proved it to everyone who doubted her and she proved it to herself.
