What Kaja loves most about playing basketball is the thrill of the game and the chance to challenge herself every time she steps on the court. She lights up when she’s part of a team, pushing herself to improve and celebrating every win—big or small. Kaja especially enjoys learning new skills, competing with heart, and showing leadership, even at such a young age. For her, basketball isn’t just a sport—it’s a passion that brings her joy, confidence, and purpose.
Kaja is inspired both on and off the court by her mom and her cousin Malik, who show her what it means to work hard, stay focused, and never give up. She also looks up to professional players like Ja Morant and Angel Reese, admiring their skill, leadership, and love for the game. Their determination and sportsmanship motivate Kaja to give her best effort in everything she does—whether she’s practicing her shots or being a supportive teammate. Their example reminds her that with heart and hustle,
One of my proudest moments of Kaja was when she scored 18 points in a single game at just seven years old, playing in the Aurora rec coed league. She played with incredible confidence, focus, and heart—outshining players older and bigger than her. That season, all her hard work paid off when she was named MVP of the entire league. Watching her dominate the court and earn that recognition at such a young age was an unforgettable moment and a true testament to her passion and talent for the game.
