Working together with his fellow teammates to better themselves and to encourage one another. Kanaan is the most encouraging athlete I’ve ever seen. He always cheers on his team and lets them know that no one is perfect and to get it next time.
I am a single mom and I never miss a game he looks at me before every game starts and I smile and mouth you got this. Kanaan sent me a video one day that had several NBA players talking about there single moms and how they were there role models and the true MVPs. He knows I am his biggest cheerleader on and off the court.
During a very tough game Kanaan was never taken out he pushed until the very end and we were tied he scored the winning goal by rebounding a missed shot and after the game he praised his teammate who missed the shot and told him if he wouldn’t have taken a chance and shot he couldn’t have rebounded the ball to shot again. He never wants to be the shining star he just wants to play the game and encourages his teammates. That was the only game they won that season.
