Whether it’s coaches, teammates, college athletes, or family, she has had an unbelievable supporting cast throughout the way that has motivated her to reach her best potential. One person that stands out the most is her hitting coach, Jessica Bowden. Kathalina has developed a relationship that is founded on accountability. She’s not babied and she’s not coddled, she’s has been guided and taught many lessons about how to grow as an athlete and teammate.
Honestly, the thing that makes me the proudest is how she handles failure. She’s been coached hard, but she understands how much love and support she has around her. She handles failure by slowing things down, handling her emotions and getting back to work. She plays a game where failure happens the majority of the time, how she handles it is what will make her the most successful and confident athlete.
