What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

KayLynn loves playing flag football because its fun ,competitive, and a great way to stay active. She enjoys working with her team "The Staten Island Giants" , making plays, and always trying to get better. Every game pushes her to grow, stay focused, and play with heart. It helps her build confidence on and off the field. Most of all she loves the excitement and energy that comes with every play.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

KayLynn says her teammates in flag football inspire her on and off the field. They always work hard during and after practice and never give up, which motivates her to keep trying her best. They support each other through wins and losses, teaching her the importance of teamwork, friendship, and great sportsmanship. Watching how dedicated and positive they are helps KayLynn stay focused in school and in life. Having teammates like them makes playing flag football and every day challenges easier.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

7 years ago when Kay was 8 she asked to play tackle football. As a girl dad I was a bit taken back and at first I was against it. She fought hard and pushed back and eventually I caved in and let her tryout. Wow was I surprised at such a young age what heart and dedication this child would have in this sport. Not only only was she able to compete, but it also paved the ground work to transition to competitive flag football. We now travel nationwide for tournaments. Always have faith in your kids
