My son has been playing football and basketball ever since he could walk. No matter what, he is always looking to play and improve!

He loves to go out there and get better everyday, make his coaches proud and strive for what we wanted as a kid, to play in the big leagues one day. He loves how he can just go on the field and forget about his problems. He’s able to be himself and able to do that with some of his best friends.
His grandpa inspires him, the reason he is playing sports is because of his grandfather’s influence at a young age. After his grandfather passed away it really motivated him to make him proud and do everything for him. He always believed that he is smiling in heaven watching down on him as he continues to strive for greatness.
My proudest moment of him is how his biggest role model, his grandpa got cancer a week before his championship game, however this did not stop him. He went out and won the championship for his grandpa and played the best game he’s ever had. This made me proud because he is always able to strive through the ups and downs during sports and never let things get to his head.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
