Join the CompetitionWhat I love most is the friendships I’ve made. Baseball has taught me to stay humble, have good sportsmanship, and be a better teammate and opponent. I’ve learned it’s not just about me, it’s about being part of a team and supporting each other. Golf has taught me to trust myself, be independent, and be a friend to myself, which has helped me grow on and off the course.
My parents inspire me because they’re always there for me, especially when things get tough. They remind me that I’m strong, brave, and kind, and they believe in me no matter what. I also really look up to the seniors I played varsity with. They made me feel like I belonged, even as an 8th grader. Everyone should get to feel that kind of support.
I was homeschooled from 3d to 7th grade and couldn’t play school sports, even though baseball was my passion. I showed up to support my friends, even when it hurt not to be on the field. I made the choice and told my family I wanted to return to public school. They supported me, and in 8th grade I made varsity for both golf and baseball. I started every game and became a lead hitter. For that I am very proud.
