What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He loves everything about it, the rush of getting the ball and making a play, working with your team to do your best win or lose. “What’s there not to love about basketball?”

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Kobe has always inspired me because of all the work he had put into his career and life. He gave back when he was able to.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Watching him overcome Osgood schlatters disease while playing AAU for a new team. The commitment to drive over an hour each way to practice three nights a week and come home and still go to school and do well. Then at the end of AAU he injured his knee again and worked hard to recover so he “wouldn’t let his team down” during summer league. Recently a coach from a sport he doesn’t even play asked him to join his team, because he’s the kind of kid he’s like to coach.
