She pushes her team to work hard and leads in a way that brings everyone on the team together. She is an unselfish PG. She reads the floor and wants points the best way no matter how. She loves the challenge of defense. This sets her apart from the usual personal point focused player. She almost always puts up on the scoreboard, but when her team doesn't have the ball, she wants it back! And it shows! That's where her biggest thrill comes in. Defense fuels her drive to compete.
Her mother. She encourages her to always keep pushing. On days when she's frustrated or not playing her best, her mom reminds her to stay focused, work hard, and keep her head up. Her mother's support helps her reset mentally and remember why she loves the game and everything she's put into it. She believes in her and that keeps Kelsie motivated, grounded, and confident on the court and off. She is also very thankful for all of her coaches and trainers that have poured into her lovingly!
She gives her teammates and coaches the best of her, especially under pressure. She is a true facilitator! One of our most exciting moments is Kels coming through in a nail-biting area game last HS season. She defended at half court ruthlessly resulting in a steal, pushed the ball down the court, and laid it up for a winning 2 points right at the end of the game! This team win (along with a great season) allowed them to host the area tournament of state playoffs for the first time in 10 years!
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
