One thing I love most about playing softball is how supportive everyone is. The bond you build with your teammates is really special. It’s like having a group of close friends you can always count on. No matter what’s going on we’ve got each other’s backs and that makes the game even more fun.
One person who really inspires me on and off the field is Coach Dave. He was my very first softball coach when I started playing at 8 years old for my school and now I’m 12 and he coaches my travel team! No matter what, he never gets frustrated. If I’m having a hard time he just helps me figure out what I can do better and encourages me to keep trying. He’s always patient and positive, and that makes a big difference.
One moment in my athletic journey that makes me the proudest is how much my travel team has grown. At the beginning of this season we didn’t win any games, but we kept working hard and supporting each other. Once we got our first win, everything started to click. We finished the season strong and even won the last two tournaments. That felt amazing!
