You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
What Kennedy loves most about track is the personal growth it brings. She pushes herself daily to beat her own records and values that her performance depends on the work she puts in. She enjoys that track is an individual sport where her success is in her hands, but she also loves the bond of her relay team and celebrating shared victories. The sport fuels her drive to become a college athlete, and it gives her confidence, purpose, and a constant reminder of her strength.
Her inspiration comes from within and from the future she’s determined to create. She’s motivated by the places she wants to go, the records she wants to break, and the goals she’s set for herself as a future college athlete. She also draws quiet strength from watching her mother—a hardworking woman who sacrifices daily to help her children reach their dreams. That example pushes her to keep going, to give her best, and to never settle.
One of the proudest moments in her journey was when she chose to focus solely on track. She began training at 5:30 a.m. before school, kept her grades up, and still was active in other school areas and in her community. Watching her balance it all—school, service, and training—while also researching college programs and beginning college testing requirements showed me how serious and dedicated she is. Her growth, discipline, and commitment has made me incredibly proud!
