What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

I just love to compete. The best feeling and setting a goal for the game, like my personal stats, and accomplishing that goal. Playing my sports is how I express myself and challenge myself to get better and know that I can accomplish anything I put my time and energy into doing. I always chase that feeling of being and getting better as an athlete but also as a person.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My mom inspires me the most. My mom battles with Multiple Sclerosis but she still gets up everyday and makes sure she takes care of me and my siblings. She never makes excuses, and she accomplishes goals for herself and she always says it’s for us. I watched my mom leave her boyfriend who was abusing her and start all over. She never complained, she hustled and went back to school and now we are in our own home and doing well. My mom shows me everyday that excuses are tools of the incompetent.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

My proudest moment as an athlete was my first soccer game of my freshman year. It was my first time not being a starter in soccer. The first game of the season I was so nervous, it was my first ever high school game. When coach put me in I scored 2 goals and earned a starting position from that point forward. I finished the season with a state and national ranking and second leading scorer on the team.
