What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Khia mainly loves the challenges of the sport. Every game is different. It pushes her to be her best. She plays all positions and defends against older, bigger players.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

She looks up to many people. She loves to watch Caitlin Clark and Breanna Stewart. How they are down to earth and represent women’s basketball in a positive way. She sees how they have grown in the sport.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

It’s hard to narrow down one moment. I love to see Khia smile and doing something she truly loves. I am most proud when I see her step up and coach the other players on the court. She is a great role model. It’s not just about making plays but understanding the game. She keeps them focused and positive on the court. She makes them laugh and not get in their head if they mess up a shot. She will communicate with the team while playing. She anticipates the next moves of the opponents.
