Thank you for generously supporting Korinna in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
Korinna loves the game itself. It puts her in a zone of pure enjoyment and she describes it as a “second life you live” outside of home and school. She loves pitching and playing the mental game with getting a batter out. Korinna loves to share what she knows with younger players offering tips and words of encouragement often to others. Korinna understands what it takes and loves devoting time to the sport.
Korinna is truly inspired by her dad. Her dad is honest and pushes her to be the best she can be. He is always willing to put the work in with her to keep her fresh and maintain her skills or teach her new things. He is patient and reviews video footage of training and games with her and dedicates his time to helping her learn and do better.
One moment in Korinna’s journey that makes me the proudest was watching her come off a huge loss and being able to pick herself up in the next game to have the game of her life. She ended up earning a game ball and was voted MVP from her teammates and she took home a plaque! That day was momentous as it united the team and strong friendship bonds formed from there because of her character and inspiration to her teammates!
