Ky lives for inline speed skating! She uses her faith in God to be a role model for others and that is what makes Ky Athlete of the Year!

Ky loves being able to learn and grow and accomplish goals she didn't know she had, but does now. It gives Ky a place to challenge herself, achieve and inspire. She is a God fearing skater who wants to be impactful to other skaters and athletes. Skating has also helped her overcome life challenges, learn how to be stronger and see what she is really capable of. Skating is her therapy, it's the thing she can put full trust in God for and know that He will guide her through it.
Ky is inspired by so many skaters! The ones who stand out to her the most are Erin Jackson, because she is an amazing sprinter who can go from ice to inline and go out there and win, and, Jessica Brooks, who is Ky's favorite skater because she is someone who works so very hard to get to where she needs to go. She is someone who doesn't have things handed to her, she has to work for what she wants.
Ky found inline speed skating during an incredibly challenging time in her life. She has had her highs and lows. She has overcome one of the hardest challenges a kid should never have to go through, and when she found speed skating, she found the light of life again in her faith and her skating. Witnessing her growth in skating and seeing her dreams come true has not only inspired me but also the people around her. I am so proud of my daughter and how far she has come and grown.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
