What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

She loves helping someone else learn a new skill and kill it on the mat. It warms her heart. She is a tiny hype girl. Competition days are her favorite.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her very first coach Tigger. She has looked up to her for her entire life. Tigger showed her what hard work and dedication can do. Her and her friends pray before every competition. This started when her papa was passing while we were competing out of state. She came off the mat and was in Tears and knew he had passed because she felt his presence up there. He is and always be her guide to do her best.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

When she was just four years old, she was struggling getting her back walk over so we bought her everything. The mats everything to practice with at home and one night after practice, she stood in front of me with her hands above her head, ready to do it and said I believe in myself, I believe in myself And did her back walk over. When I asked her who taught her that she said, Coach Michelle, I have to believe in myself.
