Cheerleading is more than just an activity to me. Cheer is a balance of strength and grace. You have to be powerful enough to stunt and tumble, yet focused and sharp enough to hit motions with perfect timing. It requires discipline, teamwork, and trust. It challenges my body and my mind pushing me to become the best version of myself. The energy, teamwork, and thrill of performing-I love every part of cheer. So it isn’t just a sport to me. It is my passion, my escape, my happy place.
I have never seen my mom quit or give up at anything in life. If she doesn’t get it the first time around, she is going to figure it out. That “never give up” attitude is something I carry with me in everything I do.
Watching her compete or obtain a new skill like the day she landed her back-handspring tuck or hearing the excitement in her voice when she tells me what new stunt she stuck after practice.
