What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Lane loves the competition of baseball, not only competing against the other team but competing against himself to continue to be the best player he can possibly be. Also he said he loves the smell of the ball park. It makes him excited as he’s walking up and smells the fresh cut grass. He said, as soon as he smells it he starts to visualize the plays he’s going to make that day. His favorite play to make is back handing a ball in the hole and throwing the batter out at first.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

On the field Lane plays for his teammates. They inspire him to be the best player he can be. The team he plays for is a true family. They have each other’s back no matter what the game might bring. Not only does he want to be the best player he can for them but also the best teammate. Off the field his Uncle Scott Pagano inspires him. Scott played football at Clemson University and won a National Championship in 2016. He has shown Lane if he works hard he can play baseball at the D1 level.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

There’s so many proud moments it’s hard to pick one but I’d have to say it’s been the journey of watching him climb through the FPB (Future Pro Baseball) Rankings. Lane’s goal was to not only be the #1 ranked player in Georgia but to be the #1 ranked player in the Nation. He had a great Fall season last year and finished #1 in Ga but 2nd Nationally. That wasn’t good enough for him. I watched him go to work through the offseason with only one goal in mind, becoming #1 in the Nation and he did it.
