What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Lawson loves playing ALL sports and staying active. He enjoys being able to meet new people, and challenge himself to learn something new everyday. He loves being able to prove to himself that he can do it as long as he is willing to put in the work. He moves from the football and soccer field, to the basketball court, baseball field and the track. He loves being able to cheer on his teammates to help encourage them as well.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

The people who inspire me on and off the field are my dad, grandpa. They are always cheering me on and helping me to be my best. My dad helps me to reach my goals in school and on the field. He has always made time to coach me and if he isn't my coach, he is cheering me on from the stands. My grandpa has taught me that it is okay to make mistakes because that is how you learn and get better. He also instilled that God always comes first and to turn to Him when I feel anxious or overwhelmed.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One moment in his journey so far that makes him the proudest was when he won MVP in the Cen-Cal Superbowl in 2023. He put in a lot of work and had to push himself and help encourage his teammates. The thing that makes me the proudest in his journey, is that he continues to stay kind, and wants to help others. He hasn't let the sports change him.
