Receive Text UpdatesLayla loves how difficult gymnastics is. It makes her have to strive every practice to be better. It’s a sport surrounded with others but the real competition is solely with herself and how she has to overcome obstacles to be best.
Layla is inspired by none other than Simone Biles. In fact, when Layla first started, we tweeted at Simone a picture of her wearing a Simone leo and she tweeted us back! She is inspired by Simone by watching her always continue to push forward, which is the easiest way for a seven year old to explain it.
There was one day where Layla was working on climbing the rope with only her arms, no legs as legs were piked. She struggled to make it halfway and was so upset with herself over not being able to do it. But by the end of her practice, Layla came to me (mom) and told me that she wasn’t going to give up and just needed “some more practice, then I’ll get it!” And seeing her change her mindset was everything to us!
