Thank you for generously supporting Layo in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
Playing up with his Hamilton academy team, Layo’s love for soccer runs deep. At just 8, he’s known for his vision, teamwork, and dedication on and off the field. His passion? Playing smart, lifting his team, and living the game every single day.
Playing up with his Hamilton academy team, Layo brings skill, heart, and maturity beyond his years. A true student of the game, he remembers plays most adults forget and leads with quiet confidence. Inspired by pro players, coaches, and his soccer-loving family, Layo is always respectful to teammates, coaches, refs, and opponents alike. On and off the field, he's the first to lend support and the kind of leader every team wants.
Since he was little, Layo has shown a natural gift for athletics — not just in skill, but in understanding the game on a level far beyond his age. Our proudest moments have come year after year, starting at just 6 years old, when he was invited to play above his age group. Every season since, he’s proven he belongs emotionally, physically, and mentally. Watching him rise to every challenge with humility, focus, and heart is what makes us proudest.
