Leighton loves the thrill of the game! Baseball is like playing chess. It keeps me alert and thinking steps ahead of the game. I love making spectacular catches, double plays here and there, as well as testing my throwing and hitting abilities. The game is sometimes unpredictable and that keeps me on my toes!! It teaches me patience, strategy, timing, and great sportsmanship.
On the field, Fernando Tatis Jr and Mookie Bets. Both are great players. I admire their hard work and consistency in the game of baseball. Off the field, I admire my mom. She pushes me in EVERYTHING I do not just sports. She takes off and does what she has to do to support me at my school games and travel baseball games. I can't wait to be successful in the game and take care of her one day!!
Being able to motivate my teammates when I hit homeruns or make a good defensive play! I always test my limits when I go up to bat. And I know if I start hitting, everyone will feed off my energy!! Seeing them cheer me on, makes me go even harder in the game!! My mom, my coaches, the fans, my teammates are true motivation for me!!
