What I love most is the grind and the competition. I like being out there knowing it’s just me and the game—every pitch, every swing, every moment matters. I love the adrenaline, the pressure, and the feeling of getting better every time I play. It’s not just about winning, it’s about proving to myself that all the work I put in is paying off. And I like the brotherhood too—being with my teammates, building trust, and pushing each other to be great.
My coach Vic Buttler inspires me a lot because he’s been where I wanna go. He doesn’t just teach us the game—he teaches us how to be men and how to carry ourselves with respect and confidence. Off the field, my family inspires me because they’ve always had my back no matter what. They’ve taught me to stay humble, work hard, and never quit. On the field, I look up to players like Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani—guys who play the game with skill, energy, and love for what they do.
One of the proudest moments in Lennex’s athletic journey was winning the 2024 14U Junior Olympics with Coach Vic Butler and the first all-Black coaching staff to ever take the title. That win wasn’t just about the trophy—it was about making history, breaking barriers, and proving what’s possible when talent, preparation, and representation come together. It taught Lennex the importance of legacy, teamwork, and staying grounded in moments of success. That experience will stay with him forever.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
