Join the CompetitionLiam loves both football and baseball because he has grown up playing with his family and neighborhood kids. He has also had to deal with peers and adults not believing he could play because of his diagnosis. He has not let them stop him or his love of the sports.
I believe Liam is inspired by his family. We've never told him he can't do something. He's heard stories about Jim Abott from his mom. He also looks up to pro ball players, not for their status but because he's seen them having fun while playing.
I think when he wanted to be a pitcher. We would practice endlessly at home and finally two of his recent coaches gave him a shot in the summer of 2024. And this summer he was a regular starter. Seeing him pitch and switch hands with his glove between batters is pretty cool. Now he wants to move onto catching more.
