Thank you for generously supporting Liam in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
Liam appreciates his upbringing doing MMA/BJJ and how his past experiences enable him to teach and encourage those around him to be better. While he is a fierce competitor, it is teaching and guiding the young children around him to be the best athlete, and fighter they can be. He currently teaches a 4-7 year old class at his home gym in North Carolina. Whether he wins this vote or not, he appreciates his livelihood and his talent for helping those around him.
Liam's two biggest role models are Dustin Porier and Alex Periera. On one hand, he admires Dustin Poriers style of fighting because while it isn't necessarily a valid thing in the sport of Bjj, he shares a similar mindset to Dustin in regards to competition. However, he is heavily inspired by Alex because of the difficult upbringing he has, and it shows that faith in God and the breaking of metaphorical chains matter most when trying to make a name for themself.
His 2x gold medal earning victory over Dennis Bruin, the 2023 NAGA World champion, and state freestyle medalist, to earn his Blue Belt at the youngest recorded age globally is certainly the standout. However the most impressive performance was his 11 match streak in one day with 9 of them being in men's divisions. Fighting on short notice with little preparation, he took home 4 golds in one day, a personal record for Liam. He took the title for fastest submission of the day at 7 seconds.
