Lucas loves playing because he loves the game, whether it be football or baseball or a pick-up basketball, or street hockey game with his friends. He loves to push himself to perfect his ability. Simply put, he loves being athletic and the joy he gets from being with a team and other people that enjoy the same interests.
Derek Jeter, Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, his parents, and coaches. We have always taught him about hard work, being a teammate, and life lessons. He listens to the athletes speak and what they do and have done. Lucas has a lot of favorite players across all sports because he intently studies their moves, and characteristics to practice, but he also pays attention to their personality and beliefs. He takes that to the field before and after games to help him in different situations
Lucas has played on teams that have won championships, and teams that didnt win a game all season. But after each losing game he would say, "mom its ok that we lost, we all tried our best, and we had so much fun, and I really hope coach Matt is my coach again." That was his first season on the oldest little league "majors" team he was the youngest player. My heart beamed that day. At 9 knew more about being part of a team and a good sport than some adults. He just loves playing, win or lose.
