What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What he loves most about baseball is the challenge—it pushes him every day to be better. As a catcher, he thrives on being in the action, leading the field, and competing at the highest level. His drive doesn’t stop when the game ends; whether he's at home or walking down the hallway, he's always mimicking throws or swings, completely immersed in the game he loves. Baseball isn't just a sport to him—it's a passion he lives every day.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

The two people who inspire him most are his father and great-grandfather. His dad, a former D1 pitcher and his coach, leads by example with dedication and knowledge. His great-grandfather, who coached nearly every sport, showed unwavering passion for helping others grow. Both men have instilled in him the values of hard work, leadership, and the joy of seeing teammates improve—lessons that continue to shape who he is on and off the field.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that makes me most proud is when Lucci won the Ultimate PE Pride Award in 7th grade—given to just one student each year for embodying positivity, respect, integrity, determination, and empathy. While he's a gifted athlete, what stood out most was his choice to partner with classmates who felt uncomfortable in PE, always striving to make others feel seen, included, and supported. That’s the kind of teammate—and person—he is.
