He also loves how the game pushes him to be better not just physically, but mentally. Soccer has taught him discipline, focus, and how to stay composed under pressure. It’s helped him grow his confidence, learn leadership, and show respect for coaches, refs, teammates, and even opponents.
My son is most inspired by his coach and his father. On the field, his coach pushes him to be his best not just by teaching soccer skills, but by showing what it means to lead with discipline, humility, and heart. His coach believes in him, even when he doubts himself, and reminds him that effort matters more than talent alone. Off the field, it’s his father who inspires him the most. He looks up to him for his strength, work ethic and the way he never gives up no matter what life throws at him.
One of the proudest moments in my son’s athletic journey was during a tough game when his team was down, spirits were low, and frustration was high. Instead of giving in to the pressure, he stepped up not by scoring a winning goal, but by leading with heart. He encouraged his teammates, kept his attitude positive, and reminded everyone not to give up.
