With shot put, she’s driven by the challenge: no finish line, just endless chances to push for a few more inches, where every inch can change everything. Her passion lies in precision, progress, and the pursuit of her personal best.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Lyric finds inspiration in her family—especially her big sister, Kharmyn, whose determination and fearless pursuit of goals show Lyric what’s possible. On the field, she’s motivated by Olympian Raven Saunders, whose resilience and strength both in sport and life left a lasting impression during a shot put clinic. Their stories fuel Lyric’s own path of pushing boundaries and rising above challenges.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the proudest moments in Lyric’s journey wasn’t about titles—it was watching her choose kindness. She noticed a fellow thrower who seemed new and said, “Mom, I want to help her, but I’m scared.” Encouraged to be brave, she offered tips, made a friend, and uplifted her competitor. They competed side by side, cheered for each other, and embraced after placing first and second. That moment reflected the heart behind the athlete—and the character behind the throw.
