What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Macie thrives on competition, but it's camaraderie and shared growth in women's wrestling that fuels her passion. She loves the team atmosphere shared through her clubs and dual teams from across the nation. Competitors become friends and friends become competitors, all working to make each other better. The bond to build women's wrestling is fierce and inspiring. Macie also enjoys and excels in running, softball, gymnastics, and dirt bike riding.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Macie has several local and national influences, including the entire Iowa Women's wrestling team (especially our local Danni Swihart and USA Kennedy Blades) and many female athletes like Cecelia W from MI. Also inspired by countless coaches (especially her home club Mat Pyscho) and parent's work ethic to be successful in everything from school to chores to sports. Macie has thrived as a local leader inspired by other girls and boys she is helping grow in the sport, pushing others to be better.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Macie shines through her perseverance and leadership. After many losses, she finally triumphed over a top competitor - her joy is unforgettable, and they've become friends and warm-up partners. Equally inspiring is her leadership: from age 6, she's guided teammates with confidence. Now 9, she's mat-side coaching, lifting others with passion. Extra growth with personal loss of grandfather prior to National tournaments; balancing emotion and desire for self-improvement. This girl has grit!!
