BMX has brought so many new life experiences to Maddi’s life! She loves that racing is an independent sport, even if you’re on a team, you race for yourself! You get to travel and spend time with friends from all over the place!
Maddi looks up to many pro riders as well as local “legends”. Watching them progress from local races to larger races like gold cup and nationals. She is inspired to try harder and learn new skills along the way!
One moment that made me proudest watching my daughter race, was at the gold cup finals race last fall. The weather wasn’t good, we had storms hit on and off all day long. Mains started and Maddi was sitting center of the pack, there was a crash in front of her and she managed to maneuver around them and hammer down! She pedaled her hardest and ended up taking first in the main! Mom started crying and ran all the way to the finish line to congratulate her!
