Swimming is a unique sport where the focus is on individual performance but she enjoys the team aspect, especially when it comes to relays, pushing each other in practice or cheering from the sideline.
Maeven has been inspired through the guidance of a variety of wonderful coaches. Maeven has remained coachable through the years and has built a solid foundation. She remains open to different ideas, techniques and strategies. Outside of the pool her parent’s unwavering support has also motivated Maeven to work hard, stay dedicated and mentally strong.
As a parent I am most proud when Maeven shows grit and determination as she pushes through intense training and self-doubt to achieve a personal best or just doing hard things to prove to herself that hard work and perseverance pays off.
