You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Besides the thrill of the game, the sound of your blades slicing through the ice, the feeling of scoring the game winning goal? She loves all of that but what she loves more is being able to work hard to get better and better at a game she loves! She loves the camaraderie, her teammates and her coaches sharing in the wins and the losses. She loves knowing that she will have these memories with her friends for the rest of her life. She loves leaving it all on the ice come game time!
She is inspired by her coaches, Corey and Dayton, from her favorite summer hockey camp, RB. She draws inspiration and motivation from their stories, much like her own, where they weren't picked for every team they tried out for. They took those defeats and used them to work harder and get better and be successful the next time. At camp, they push her to her limit-they make her work hard!! They believe in her and want the best for her which in turn makes her believe in herself.
I think I'm most proud of the teamate she is. She never takes her frustrations out on her team or makes them feel bad for making a mistake. She lifts everyone up and sees every failure as an opportunity to learn and grow. For two seasons she didn't make the teams she was hoping for, but she moved forward, worked hard and now has been scouted for the Female Super League! She's coachable and she is ready to learn. She is a natural leader and she earns respect by the way she treats others.
