Makenna loves the competition aspect of volleyball and softball, the way her teammates feel like family, and relationships she has with coaches who are guiding her to be a well rounded athlete. Sports are not only teaching her about how to win but losses help with learning how to become better. Sports are full of life lessons helping to develop character and teach mental aspects of becoming a great athlete, teammate and friend.
Makenna’s family and friends offer support off the field/court not only after wins but also after losses and injuries allowing for positive support and guidance giving her the self esteem to continue in the mental development of becoming a great athlete. On the field and court the positive energy from her teammates and inspiration from her coaches are helping develop the skills needed to to continue to play what she loves and become a great athlete!
Makenna hit five out of the park home runs during one tournament this past season. I was so proud and full of excitement, but she acted like it was just part of the game. She was grateful to could bring in so many runs for her team. She told me not to make a big deal but happy she had a good weekend. It makes me proudest that she builds up her teammates and sees the bigger picture of the game. Seeing your child enjoying their sport is the proudest moment.
