You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Malacai loves the competition, he is very competitive and gives his best to win. He is a team player, he loves being able to play with his friends /teammates and contributing to win. Most of all Malacai loves being a kid, learning new techniques and fun all while dominating the game!
Malacai is inspired by his step-dad Eugene Thomas. Eugene has been a part of Malacai's youth sports journey since day one. Being a Highschool football coach and former athlete trainer for the Chicago Bears, Eugene has a lot of knowledge he gives Malacai. Malacai is fascinated by his strength and knowledge of sports. Eugene also encourages Malacai to be a better student and he's Malacai's go to when he needs help academically.
The moment that makes me proud is when I realized Malacai understands sports is more than about winning. He showed me through actions and words that he rather build meaningful relationships, learn the fundamentals and have fun over being part of a championship team. He understands that a win isn't always a win and he puts morals an ethics in front of every play.
