You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Marshall loves the competitiveness of baseball. He also loves the baseball IQ required in order to play the game to his full potential. Marshall also loves how baseball challenges him to personally become a better athlete at the different positions in baseball such as pitching, hitting, and fielding. Marshall also understands how baseball helps him with everyday life skills such as communication, controlling his emotions, and making good choices.
Marshall is inspired by his older brother Hezekiah Strickland. Marshall is inspired by his brother because he has watched him work hard at sports and school to achieve his goal. Marshall's brother finished high school a semester early and went to college early on a full football scholarship. Marshall's brother achievements gives Marshall the drive and strength to keep working hard and doing his best in school and in sports in hopes of also receiving a full scholarship one day as well.
During Marshall's athletic journey, I am always the proudest when I can witness mental growth taking place. To see my son be so passionate about baseball, a sport that can bring so much joy along with just as many upsets, can be scary as a parent. However, to see my son mentally work through the sport is rewarding in hopes that these skills will make him a better person.
